It can be hard to ask for help sometimes. For me, it’s hard every time. The truth is, we all need coaching. Why ? Because we can’t SEE ourselves.

Albert Einstein said, “Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them.” So, if your mind created the problem, your mind cannot solve the problem. It makes perfect sense. When you get wrapped up in a problem, you often go in circles trying to figure it out. Meanwhile, a person standing next to you can see that you are actually in a square. The circles won’t help. They will just keep you spinning. Then when someone points out the square, you slap your hand against your head and ask, “How did I not see that this entire time?” It’s because a different mind is looking at it.

I have worked with many people, listened to their circles and then pointed out their squares. It comes naturally to me. Why ? I’m not 100% sure. Was it years of my own therapy after tragedy in my life? Maybe. Was it my lifelong obsession with psychology that led me to read books and watch videos to understand how the human mind works? Yes, of that I’m sure. I know it led me to a subscription to “Psychology Today” way back when magazines were actually delivered to your house on purpose. But I think it is mostly due to my empathic abilities. Not just having empathy but being an Empath. I can FEEL other people’s feelings. It’s just part of who I am. I embrace it and it definitely helps me to help others.

I know most people say, “Thanks but I don’t need a coach. I can figure it out on my own.” It is the fallback position because we are supposed to be able to figure it out without help. After all, we are intelligent, capable and skilled, right ? Asking for help or having a coach means we are weak, inept or feeble. Well you know who has a coach ? Tiger Woods. Considered by many to be the best golfer of all time. He has a guy watching him swing the clubs. A guy who will point to things that can be done differently to improve his game. No matter how great Tiger is, he has a coach because there are things that Tiger just can’t see.

So, if you would like to get 1 on 1 coaching from me – private and completely confidential – reach out and let’s talk for about a half hour. Any topic. Any issue. Even golf. Nothing is off limits. Let’s get together and see what there is to be seen.

I await you.
